Your morning begins at St Pierre Park hotel & country club with a welcome and briefing
from your host. Firstly we will
introduce you to a number of beautiful birds of prey which you will be able to fly
in the woodland around the hotel. We’ll
then set off to a little-known viewpoint of the Wye Valley which has inspired artists,
poets and even Presidents. Another
short drive will take us to a private woodland to learn some of the most important
and essential of wilderness skills with Alan.
The afternoon will be spent around the famous Symonds Yat Rock, with lunch at the
historic Olde Ferrie Inn. You will
be briefed on how to handle a Canadian canoe and set-off to paddle through a remarkable
natural gorge. The River Wye
is unique in that it is possible for complete novices to experience the serenity
of riding a canoe on a river. We’ll meet you
beyond the rapids and walk you back through the forest explaining the various plants,
trees and flowers found there.
We transport you back across the river in a hand-drawn ferry and return you to the
comfort of St Pierre Park where you will be
free to use the many facilities. Relax with drinks in the comfort of the lounge followed
by dinner in a choice of restaurants.
Before retiring to your room, you may want to wander the grounds and see the stars,
or linger a while in the medieval church.
The next day you might want to visit the spa, conduct some business or play a round
of golf. Or perhaps, you might just
want to reflect on a day of exceptional experiences.
